4th Class have been learning all about Africa in the past and present. We learned about how, in the past, Africa had lots of different Empires and rulers. We looked at all the different colourful flags of Africa as we now know it and we all chose a flag to recreate for our Art project. We wove the thread using different weaving patterns to create stripes, stars, circles and shapes that are all seen within flags of the countries of Africa. We learned the song and accompanying dance to "Waka Waka - This Time For Africa" by Shakira which was the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
