During this past week, 4th class created artistic representations of the well-known Christmas plant, poinsettia. The pieces were created using sponge stencils and poster paint, with the watercolour background being added later.
The poinsettia is indigenous to Mexico and Central America and was first described by Europeans in 1834. It is particularly well known for its red and green foliage and is widely used in Christmas floral displays.
